Rising Resurgence Requires Multi-Barrier Offensive
In recent weeks, Covid-19 cases have tripled across all 50 states, with about one quarter resulting in hospitalization. The massive resurgence is primarily due to the Delta Variant, which is spreading faster than vaccinations, leaving over half the country vulnerable to infection. Even the fully vaccinated are susceptible to breakthrough infections, adding further to already overtaxed hospitals and healthcare workers. Beyond mask-wearing, distancing and gathering limitations, what else can facilities do to protect visitors and staff?
In the current pandemic, ensuring 100% protection requires a multi-barrier strategy that includes proper hand hygiene and PPE, ventilation and air filtration, increased cleaning frequency and enhanced disinfection of high-touch surfaces. Though Covid-19 is mainly transmitted by aerosol inhalation, even the CDC states respiratory droplets can land on surfaces, adding to a plethora of other contagious viruses, and can survive long enough to be a contamination threat if touched. Best practices for stopping the spread include a proactive multi-layered offensive against every potential contamination source.
The Delta Variant stems from the original SARS-CoV-2 virus, therefore disinfectants like EvaClean’s PurTabs and PurOne with EPA registered SARS-CoV-2 and Emerging Pathogen kill claims will also all be effective against the variant. Moreover, EvaClean's PurOne is a Continuously Active Disinfectant (CAD) that provides sustained residual protection against surface re-contamination and is also the first chemistry EPA registered to kill surface biofilm bacteria where many germs colonize. When combined with EvaClean’s PurTabs and Protexus Electrostatic Sprayers, infectious pathogens don’t stand a chance.
